Small Bore Falling Plates (SBFP)
Small bore (.22 caliber) pistols. Red dot and open site classes.
Targets: Six 8" hinged steel plates on a rack, spaced 20” apart.
Course of fire: 6 shots per timed string, pause, reload, six more shots timed at each distance.
- 6 shots in 6 seconds at 10 yards
- 6 shots in 7 seconds at 15 yards
- 6 shots in 8 seconds at 20 yards
- 6 shots in 9 seconds at 25 yards
Score= number of plates down
Perfect score: 48 plates

Rimfire Rifle Falling Plates (RRFP)
Rimfire rifles: semi-auto, pump action, lever action, bolt action. No magnums or .17 HMR. Scoped, red dot, and open sight classes.
Targets: Six 8" hinged steel plates on a rack, spaced 20” apart.
Course of fire: 6 shots per timed string, pause, reload, six more shots timed at each distance.
Note: shooters are allowed to load six rounds of ammunition, and six rounds only at a time.
- Standing: 50 yards - 15 seconds
- Kneeling: 75 yards - 20 seconds
- Sitting; 100 yards - 25 seconds
- Benchrest 100 yards- 25 seconds

Steel Challenge
Firearms: any centerfire semi-automatic handgun or revolver, or rimfire semi-automatic handgun or revolver.
Courses of fire: Steel Challenge consists of eight stages. Each stage consists of five steel plates – four are standard plates and the fifth plate is the "stop" plate. Each of the standard plates must be hit at least once before hitting the stop plate.
Scoring: your time is your score.
Ammunition: handloads may be used. All ammunition must be loaded within safe limitations for the handgun to be used.
Ear and eye protection: required of all competitors and other personnel in the immediate vicinity of the firing line.
Holsters are for centerfire firearms only: shall be mounted in the general vicinity of the waist, must cover the trigger and must safely retain the gun. Western style holsters used for single action revolvers are not required to cover the trigger, however the handgun must start with the hammer down. Rimfire guns are not holstered, and start from a low ready position.
Serpa system holsters are prohibited.

IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association)
Where else can you run around with a loaded handgunand shoot at targets? This is about as much fun as you can have and still be legal.
Courses of fire: tactical defensive pistol stages vary in design and number from match to match. Defensive/combat scenarios.
Scoring: based on time, accurate hits to target, and defensive tactical procedure.

Anmmunition Power Factor Requirements
In order to reduce the size of bullet fragments bouncing back off steel targets, all rounds need to meet a mimimum power factor for their respective bullet sizes. We encourage you to test your ammunition to ensure that it meets minimum power factor standards.
A chronograph will be available for testing before the matches. Testing is voluntary, but the match directors have the authority to request samples of anyone's ammunition if concerns arise.
- Minor power factor (120) applies to bullets weighing up to 174 grains.
- Major power factor (165) applies to bullets weighing 175 grains or more.
